On the Nepal Election Results
The victory of the CPN (Maoist) as the single biggest party, very close to a majority, is a powerful expression of the people’s aspiration for a radical change. The CPN (Maoist) was not returning to a ‘main stream’. Rather it created a political stream, new to Nepal, through 10 years of Peoples War and brilliant political moves, and forced the ruling class parties to follow it. The parties representing the old were defeated; the proponent of the new catapulted forward.
Can the presently elected Constitutional Assembly bring forth a constitution capable of realizing the people’s revolutionary aspirations reposed in the CPN (Maoist)? Either a two third majority or consensus – this is the method prescribed by the Interim Constitution for the decision making process in the Constitutional Assembly. The CPN (Maoist) doesn’t have the former. And the latter cannot satisfy the fundamental interests of the masses, because a consensus with other parties means a consensus with the political representatives of the old ruling classes. Will any ruling class agree to decisions leading to its own extinction? More basically, how can the revolutionary aspirations of the people be realized while retaining the old state machinery? The tensions of the dual power that had existed since the end of 2006 is coming up for resolution in the direction of the domination of either one or the other.
What is decisive now is to guard against dissipating the energy, provided by the support witnessed in the elections and people’s aspiration for a new Nepal, in constitutional tangles and transform it into determination and will to forge a new path forward. This is possible only if there is a firm orientation of going beyond satisfying the immediate material needs of the people and moving in the direction of their long term interests, the realization of a future free of exploitation. A rightist position which held that Nepal must go through an interim ‘bourgeois democratic’ stage of ending the monarchy and carrying out some democratic reforms, instead of pressing forward immediately to a New Democratic society led by the proletariat, had come up earlier. The CPN (Maoist) had adopted its recent tactical moves after struggling against this rightist position also, along with struggling against dogmatism that opposed tactical moves. But the new situation may give a new life to such views. Along with the energy to advance even more, the electoral victory will surely have produced a powerful pull to bask in ‘constitutional respectability’.
Though Indian ruling class parties and various imperialist forces have welcomed the Nepal election result as a victory for democracy, the advance of the CPN (Maoist) has made them uneasy. Even while they publicly state that the results must be accepted and the CPN (Maoist) must be given the opportunity to form a new government, they are trying to make that conditional and controlled by using the services of the Nepali Congress and the UML. The existence of the old state machinery lends strength to such moves.
The tactics adopted by the CPN (Maoist) to push the political realm towards a point of their choice are new in the history of international communist movement. They must be evaluated in the light of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist principles. But mechanical parroting of these principles, while ignoring the objective situation or the tactical flexibility it calls for, is of no use. This is seen in the approach which establishes that the Nepali Maoists have abandoned the revolutionary road since, as opposed to their earlier stand of confiscating foreign capital and confronting Indian expansionism, they now say that they are not inimical to foreign capital and wish friendship with India. Are those who raise such arguments ignorant of the approach adopted towards imperialists and their capital in the immediate wake of the Russian and Chinese revolutions? In any case such simplistic logic that ignores the complexities of seizing and retaining political power will only help disarm the revolutionaries.
Creative application of ideology is possible only where the complexities of the situation are confronted realistically.

Election and emergency in Bangladesh
Emergency was declared in Bangladesh on last 11th January. It was imposed as a way out of the grave crisis which arose due to the severe contradiction inside the ruling class on the issue of national parliament election. The second caretaker government was formed also. With reference to the context, “Caretaker government” is a non-elected and so-called non-political government according to ruling class and the state. Ruling big bourgeois class of our country introduced this government system in ‘90. Because, the contradiction among the comprador bourgeoisie is very intense and nasty centering on getting power and they are not ready to resign from power for the sake of their narrow group interests. All of them are dangerously desperate for power through fraud vote, terror, corruption etc. As a result, according to rule of bourgeoisie democracy followed by them, holding election under the past government and handing over power to other winning group became impossible for them. In this way, covetousness for power threw this class in a great crisis. As a quick remedy solution of this great crisis, they arranged hand over of power to a non-elected non-democratic and ‘non-political’ government temporarily. When the existing government has finished the task and election are arranged under the supervision of this type of government
The new government formed for holding election is car taker government And they cheated the masses by telling that this is a great victory of democracy. In this way all of them accepted the reality that quarreling groups of ruling class are unable to follow the procedure of bourgeoisie democracy, of power hand over among their own class.
But the ruling class itself has busted this care taker government system in the face of threat. The first caretaker government was formed immediately after the resignation of BNP coalition government. They practically proved themselves as monopoly interest keepers of BNP-coalition. And at last that government was rejected in the face of very strong opposition from within the ruling class. Then the second (present) caretaker government was formed as new violating their constitution. In this way, “caretaker government” system has been proved as pithless to overcome the crisis of ruling bourgeoisie class.
Fall of the first caretaker government, imposition of emergency and take over of power by the second caretaker government — all of these were practically a disguised coup coup d’état, which was committed by the imperialists (including the so-called donner group, and chief personals in the name of diplomats) and the army. Big business men, bourgeoisie intellectual groups in the name of so-called civil society, a big chunk of civil bureaucracy and some of the small bourgeoisie political parties are directly associated with this. They used the disgust and grievance of general masses due to acts of biting for power, corruption and anti-people program of the two big bourgeoisie parties — BNP and Awami League.
This new regime — since the first day — created more terror by mass-arrest in the name of arresting the terrorists. During the last three months, they have created record by arresting nearly 2 lakhs of people. They are continuously killing people without judgment through false ‘cross fire’ initiated by the former government. Moreover new symptoms of killing people through so-called heart attack or any other way in military custody by barbaric physical torture has been added to this. They have increased suppression campaign more than before in rural areas to totally destroy the Maoist or left progressive forces through fascist attack.
After coming to power, this second ‘caretaker’ government has taken the main step against the country and people by quickly implementing the programs and plans of imperialism in this country. Including Dr. Yunus, agent of imperialism, the civil society and big businessmen are now openly saying without any hesitation that, previously political government of their class failed to implement these programs under the pressure of mass movements. So, this is the golden chance for them to execute those very programs. Practically present caretaker government is doing that very task, even though this non-elected government has no constitutional power to take this type of policy oriented decision
In the meantime, this government had brought into force order for denationalization of three major banks which was the demand of plunderer big bourgeoisie and imperialists for a long time. They have increased the price of electricity which the past BNP government could not implement for fear of public opinion, for upcoming election. They have increased the price of fuel oil at a very high rate. World Bank and imperialists were giving pressure for a long time to increase prices of all of these. This government is talking about importing electricity from India. If it is implemented, Bangladesh will be more dependent on Indian expansionism. Besides, they are jumping to implement many other programs like investment of TATA, the agreement with the gas lifting company Asia Energy and NICO, giving up of Chittagong port under the management of imperialists etc. The past government could not implement these due to the pressure of movement of the people. Some NGO’s and civil society have become the active supporters of all of these activities.
When this government will perform election and how much this emergency will continue — all these are uncertain. Rather, they are making conspiracy to continue emergency for long on the false ground of no parliament. Although direct military rule has not been imposed due to different reasons including public opinion, pressure and influence of political parties of the bourgeois class and international situation etc., that sword is hanging. That may be imposed also as a last step to overcome the crisis among the ruling class. They speak about democracy, but practically have banned all types of political activities. In this way, bankruptcy of the so-called democracy of the ruling comprador bureaucratic bourgeois class — agent of imperialism, is being exposed.
This new group of ruling class has started the so-called anti-corruption campaign after coming in power. They have arrested some notorious corrupted leaders of bourgeois parties including BNP and Awami League. But at the same time, they have released from punishment for corruption one among the topmost corrupted, extremely hated men in the history of Bangladesh, isolated from people, the ex-military administrator General Ershad. It is clear from this also that the motive of ongoing campaign of anti-corruption is political — not to uprooting corruption. They have pushed lakhs of people inhabiting slums to live in indescribable, inhuman situation under the open sky by evicting them in the name of so-called illegal foundation. They have thrown lakhs of very poor people to the street by closing their income through eviction of hawkers and small shops. The sky-scraping prices of daily necessary commodities under the tenure of last government have gone further up with the help of this government and public life is even more distressing.
In ongoing situation of the country, the activities of imperialism and Indian expansionism and the programs of their agent ruling group is closely related with the “war against terrorism” program of imperialism, particularly, US imperialism. This war is basically against the world people, and in South Asia, particularly against Maoists and revolutionary forces. New spreading of Maoist movement in South Asia, particularly possibility of Maoist revolution in Nepal, advancement of Maoist movement in India, huge possibility of development of the movement in Bangladesh and positive influence of the above mentioned Maoist movements on it, and the ever-increasing mass-agitation against imperialist aggression worldwide, including South Asia, and their globalization program—due to all these reasons, imperialists are advancing with a grave conspiracy to tighten their grip & position in this important, highly populated small country.
So, there is a great challenge in front of the revolutionary forces, particularly Maoists. Similarly this is also an opportunity for advancing the revolution. But still there is sharp weakness as a great obstacle in this country. Our party is trying to overcome these by means of all strength. An absolutely necessary and immediate task is in front of Maoists: to sum up past lines and struggles, to make rupture with past, to develop line and to advance it. For this reason, it is necessary to make close and strengthen mutual relations between the Maoists centers. We, PBSP/CC are already advancing with practice on the above mentioned subjects. Positive results of this are observed. These should be developed continuously.

Why Did Dr.Yunus Get the Nobel Prize?
Dr.Yunus is an economist; more aptly, he is a businessperson. This year he got the Nobel Prize for Peace. Since few years a campaign was going on to deliver him the Nobel Prize for Economics. Perhaps he was not found worthy to get the Nobel Prize in that particular discipline. However, there was a necessity for them in their own interest who were lobbing for him to give him a Nobel Prize. As a consequence, changing the criteria to award this Prize in Peace, the Nobel Committee has given him the Peace Prize.
Initially, the Nobel Peace Prizes were given to them who played a role to pacify an armed conflict. But Yunus never played any such role to establish peace. Yunus was chosen by the Nobel Committee for the Peace Prize due to his role in eradication of poverty, because Nobel Committee’s opinion is that poverty plays a major cause to create the disturbances; hence, the work for poverty-eradication, in a way, is a work for peace. So Yunus got the Nobel Peace Prize actually for his role in poverty-eradication – which he has done through his Grameen Bank [rural bank]. In fact, along with Yunus, his Grameen Bank too jointly got this Prize.
Today Dr. Yunus’ endeavour has spread over different countries, yet his activities are/were mainly centred around Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, he had started his small-scale credit project in 1976 and since then it is mainly active in this country for more than 30 years. So an evaluation of his achievements can be made in the perspective of poverty-eradication and socio-political peace situation of Bangladesh.
Leave aside the common masses, the broad middle class, or even the riches; none claims that there is any shade of peace in Bangladesh. Despite some tall claims by the ruling parties in power and a section of the patricians about the eradication of poverty, the reality is that Bangladesh is submerged in poverty and worldwide it is widely known. Even according to the bourgeois statistics, more than 50% of the total population of the country is living below the poverty line. In the last 30 years, among rural population, the percentage of landless people has increased from 25% to 70%. Among urban population, more than 50% are slum-dwellers. More than 2 crores of youth are unemployed. Leaving their families and friends, more than 60 lakhs of people are compelled to stay in alien countries. Alone in Indian markets, more than 5 lakhs of women of this country are engaged in prostitution.
In addition, to curb down the revolts and struggles of the oppressed masses, the state and its groomed goonda-gangs are conducting regular killings of the people. In the last 2 years, the mercenary organisation of the state, R.A.B., alone has killed more than 1000 people after arresting them, but without going through any legal proceeding. Beside this, due to the power-rivalry between the bourgeois-political parties, regularly hundreds of people are getting killed. The lack of peace has reached to such an extent that in different incidents annually around 5000 people are being killed. Very frequently, the bourgeois sociologists and even most of the patricians are openly acknowledging that peace is mere a golden dream in this country. For the same reason, even Yunus himself is advising the present non-elected and ‘non-political’ government to be strict in dealing with the existing situation. Certain this type of individuals are also putting forward an opinion very openly that to deal with such a grave situation, more than the existing autocratic rule, military rule is called for.
When a person from such a poverty-stricken and violent country is getting a prize for peace and poverty-eradication, it is righteous to raise the question about the very character of that prize itself.
More than 100 years back, a scientist, named Alfred Nobel, had initiated the Nobel Prize. He was the inventor of dynamite and through that he had earned an immense fortune. Before his death, he had contributed a huge property to run this Prize. Since then for this period of almost 100 years along with the three disciplines of natural science – Physics, Chemistry and Medical Science – annually this Prize is given in Economics, Literature and Peace. The Prize is given to the outstanding contributors in these six fields from the whole world. The prize-money in each field is huge – at least in the sense of Bangladesh’s financial standard – 10 crores of Takas [the currency of Bangladesh] Norway-based Nobel Committee is selecting the prize-winners from the bourgeois elites of different countries all over the world. Usually the persons from western developed countries are getting this Prize. In this whole span of almost 100 years, only three Bengali-speaking persons got this Prize. Before Yunus, Amartya Sen got this Prize recently in Economics and much before that Tagore had it in Literature.
It does not imply that as per the standard put forwarded by the Nobel Committee, no other Bengali-speaking person is/was eligible to get this Prize. In fact, in literature alone, numbers of other literary persons are/were having the required standard to get this Prize. However, due to various political and other equations and manipulations, such a thing did not happen. It is similar to that of Beauty Contests. In each year, a few chosen beauties are getting some international prizes. Nevertheless, that does not carry the meaning that only they are the most beautiful in this world. No doubt, they are beautiful, but the crux of the matter is that they may not be the most beautiful in the world and that no other beauty can stand out above them. Like the Beauty Contests, Nobel Prize too is an international award; it used to get importance at the world level; many distinguished characters of the bourgeois world are in the list of the prize-winners; and since the prize-money of it is quite high, worldwide its importance too has reckoned. Particularly in the countries like Bangladesh, where in the past none got this Prize, it is more so – that too in the backdrop of the fact that among the whole of Bengali-speaking population only three persons got this Prize in the span of around 100 years. In that respect, Dr. Yunus undoubtedly has become much taller (in his own admission: ‘10 feet tall’). However, many persons within this system also have told, and in future many more too will tell, that ever he can’t be that much tall.
To debate on his attained height is not our intention; rather our point of discussion is that for whom his greatness is. Since peace and poverty-eradication are directly related with politics, so we would like to discuss the contribution and role of Dr. Yunus and their effectivity in this particular field.
When the present world order is controlled and impelled by the imperialists and the Swedish Nobel Committee too is constituted and operated by the politicians of this order, as well as by the bourgeois specialists, this Prize is also compelled to come within the ambit of the interest of this order. Even in the fields of natural science, it is applicable in one form or the other, which are ostensibly considered as above any particular class. Eventually different partial inventions/discoveries in the branches of natural science may not always come up directly from the class interest of the bourgeoisie/imperialists. However, the appreciation of social science and culture, like Literature, Economics and Peace, is more political. Leave aside the cases of partial contributions in Socialist Economy, nobody has yet heard that anyone, who contributed in the development in the fundamental theory of Socialist Economy, has ever even been nominated for this Prize. The field of peace is even more political.
That is why no actual revolutionary, no genuine Communist, no true Marxist ever got the Nobel Prize. But everybody knows that only in true socialism or in the efforts to establish it, eradication of poverty is possible and because of this fact, the world could see such real examples of social peace in the previous century.
It does not connote that apart from the genuine Communists and revolutionaries there is no great progressive person or distinguished personality and we can negate or ignore his/her due recognition and prestige. It’s not that such persons never got the Nobel Prize; occasionally a few of such individuals got this Prize. But that was given under the compulsion to prove the impartial nature of the Nobel Prize as exculpations.
In spite of all such efforts, all the time the bourgeois character of the Nobel Prize was very much explicit. The majority in the list of prize-winners, particularly in case of the political prizes, like the peace prize, is showing that how the definition of peace is viewed only from the bourgeois outlook and in a number of cases how it was also distorted and maligned to accomplish imperialist interests. In the recent past decades, among the winners of the Nobel Peace Prize were the Yankee slaughterer U.S.’s Minister of Defence Kissinger, Zionist butcher of Israel Begin, Tibetan medieval feudal ruler Dalai Lama and such extremely reactionary fellows. Besides them, the other prize-winners are basically the flacks of western bourgeois democracy who played prudish role in the interest of imperialist strategy as political or bourgeois reformist social worker. Awarding Nobel peace prize to Dr. Yunus has also formulated from this stream of political evaluation.
Moreover, a powerful lobby within the U.S.-ruling class led by Clinton was campaigning for Yunus since a long time. And that had made many other imperialist-bourgeois lobbies and groups active worldwide in favour of him. A number of analysts are of the opinion that to build him up as a plausible solution to handle the present continuous political crisis of Bangladesh, Nobel Prize was given to Yunus. We cannot accept this analysis as a definite and the only cause for Yunus’ getting the Nobel Prize, yet it is a very important point to be considered – it may not happen in immediate future, but this analysis cannot be ruled out in the long-term perspective. Such a design was carried out in case of Ang Sun Su-Chi of Burma.
The point is why the imperialists have selected Dr. Yunus for this Prize. It is already being widely discussed that his small-scale credit project has attracted the imperialists’ attention the most. However, the social mise en scène of Bangladesh itself is narrating that it could not play the role of even a lantern pinion in the eradication of poverty and in the establishment of peace in this country. Because of technological advancement of the modern world or in the subsequent socio-dynamics of the bourgeoisie, in a very limited sense, a so-called eradication of old type of poverty has taken place and still this process is continuing. In that particular sense, there is no iota of doubt that by employing more than 20 lakhs of poor women, even bloodsucker garment industries are playing a bigger role than that of the Grameen Bank! In addition, these means and ways never lead the society to solve its basic problems. Imperialism knows all this, yet intentionally it is upholding bourgeois road as the solution. Out of its class interest, imperialism is simply compelled to do this. Yet, within the prevailing system what is the special importance of Grameen Bank and Yunus for the imperialism? We may have a brief discussion on it.
Now almost everybody more or less knows about Grameen Bank. It’s a new type of banking system. The difference with the conventional banking system and Grameen Bank is that this project gives loan only to the poor and that too particularly to the poor women. Dr. Yunus claims that this loan is offered without taking any security. These are the particular characteristics of Grameen Bank Project.
Nevertheless, the interest of the imperialism towards Grameen Bank and its small-scale credit programme is not confined within this alone. In reality, it’s not a new phenomenon. Since ages, the poor people of this country are taking loan from the moneylenders. Of course, the moneylenders use to take their ornaments, land, house, pots and vessels, or any other property as the security. The claim that Dr. Yunus is making that he has established the right of the poor to take credit is not correct, nor true. Since ages, the poor of this country are having the ‘right’ to take loans.
His assertion is that in the traditional type of moneylenders’ credit, the peasants get more pauperised and suffer their land and other properties. Similarly, is it true, what Dr. Yunus and his imperialists/bourgeois bosses claim, that his credit-programme is not further pauperising the poor, but to make them self-sufficient?
Well, including Awami League and B.N.P. all the bourgeois parties of this country are having exactly the same claim for their economic policy. They are claiming that the country is coming out of the poverty. Bourgeois economists and the patricians are citing different data of going down of poverty. Yet the hard-nosed reality is that extensive poverty is unabated, exploitation has further increased, class-contradiction has become more intensified and massive, and lack of peace has multiplied in many folds.
Small-scale credit, definitely, plays a role in offering relief from the immediate problems of the people and earlier the peasantry was getting it from the traditional moneylenders. Otherwise, previously people would not take loans. But now, the traditional moneylending system is becoming a matter of history, ’cause in the field of credit too, the bourgeoisie is now capable to introduce politically safer as well as economically more exploitative methods and Grameen Bank is one of them.
Small-scale credit may make a few persons richer. And it happens in cases of governmental schemes of agricultural loan, youth complex loans, etc. too. But through these, none can reach to the overall solution of the problem of poverty. Result is that the disease does not get cured.
In spite of all this, some aspects of the small-scale credit project of Grameen Bank is definitely different from the traditional moneylender’s credit – if we fail to recognise it, we would not be able to understand one of the principal reason for giving them the ‘Peace Prize’. Of course, there is no paucity of incidents where Grameen Bank has recovered the credit in the same fashion of traditional moneylenders and those incidents are no less cruel than what was doing by the traditional moneylenders. And due to these, the ordinary masses of this country have already given such epithets, like Soodkhore (moneylender), Navya-kabuliwala (neo-Shylock) etc., to Dr. Yunus and his Grameen Bank
For their personal instant need, few persons use up the small credit. In certain instances, the small credit is used in small-scale productions and trades. Usually this type of productions and trades helps the pauperised people to survive only at a marginalised level. Similar thing happens when they take loan from government projects, like Mati-kata Nari Shramik Project (rural female earth-digging worker project), V.G.F. gam (wheat) project, old people pension project, relief etc., which run as per the directives of imperialism/ World Bank/ A.D.B. / I.M.F. / U.N.O. and such agencies. Consequently, a big chunk of pauperised masses can be kept away from the path of immediate revolt; simultaneously, they can be bound within a separate structure led by the bourgeoisie in an organised manner. More the poor masses, particularly the poor women, can be tied in worshipping of Yunus, more they will be away from the genuine path of liberation, more from making social-revolution and its ideals, way and politics. After his recent visit to China, Dr. Yunus himself has told it in an unambiguous manner. Yunus could confine to an extent, if not 3 or 3.5 crores, at least 1 or 2 crores of poor masses within this fringe. And by itself, it’s definitely a big benefit for imperialism and the existing system. Reciprocally, to make this service more effective, durable, as well as glorified, they can easily offer Yunus a flighty Nobel Prize.
If it were the only contribution of Yunus, an inflexible western snob like Nobel Committee would hesitate more to offer this Prize to a mediocre bourgeois social worker, that too from a marginal and insignificant country like Bangladesh. But Dr. Yunus is more a banker than a social worker – it means that he is a businessperson. Before the world capitalism, He has opened up a new horizon in the bourgeois banking and he has profitably applied it, at least, in Bangladesh. Through his innovation, the imperialists got such an attractive sector to invest where it is both highly profitable and secured, simultaneously the method of this profiteering is playing the role not to push the poor people towards discontent and revolt, and instead it is pacifying them. It is similar to that of killing two birds with the same stone. Now in the conventional banking the big business-persons have become defaulters, the return of the credit of Grameen Bank is almost 100%. Poor people do not become defaulters, it is difficult to find out such faithful and responsible debtors like the poor – in the interest of the capital Dr. Yunus has discovered it and connected it with the capitalist process. On the other hand, the profit is two or even three times more than that of conventional banks. The way Grameen Bank presents its interest rate before the poor uneducated women; in actuality, the payable interest for them is much higher. Because when a woman is taking a loan from Grameen Bank, right from the very first day she has to pay the instalments of repayment of her total loan; though due to this, total loan taken by that woman gradually decreases, yet until the end she has to pay the interest for the whole amount that she borrowed. Thus, the actual rate of interest of Grameen Bank becomes above 30%, and today it is an unbelievable rate of profit in the banking sector. It is a large-scale deception too – it is a new discovery in the realm of falsehood made in the capitalist advertisements. In capitalism, to deceive the customers in this method is considered as a qualification.
With it, a bigger fraudulence is added when Dr. Yunus claims that since 67 lakhs of poor families are the owner of Grameen Bank, so in spite of higher rate of interest, poor people are getting benefit out of it. Thus, we can see now that half of the poor in Bangladesh are rich Bank-owners! Moreover, by exploiting themselves only, everyday they are becoming richer and richer! In capitalist system if such a discoverer doesn’t get the Prize, who else would get that?
Therefore, such an assured and huge profit-making credit business would be certainly attractive to the imperialists! Already the capital of Grameen Bank has exceeded 4 thousand crores of Takas and annually it is giving credit of almost 400 crores of Takas. It means Grameen Bank is annually earning a profit of around 150 crores of Takas. Depending upon this capital and making Grameen Bank as the base, already it has started various capitalist businesses – one of them is Grameen Phone [rural phone], whose high rate of profit, transfer of huge money to the foreign countries through it, even its fraudulent practice in evading the governmental taxes have heated up discussions and debates all over the country. Recently tying up with a big French company it has jointly established a milk-products producing company and thus it has re-exposed its comprador character.
Therefore, it is obvious that imperialism would like to invest in this country on Grameen Bank-model of banking, where no (financial) risk is involved and simultaneously where a high political benefit also exists. Imperialists will also be interested to experiment on and apply this model in other poor countries all over the world, including in the poor-circles of their own countries.
But with all this, the capitalist system cannot subdue the acute class-differences and class-contradictions within itself. This class-contradiction in different forms is bound to burst out in Bangladeshi society that is under the prevailing world system. Incapability of modern capitalism to establish peace can be seen in the world of previous century. In addition, it is incapable to eradicate the poverty in totality. As a result, out of poverty and class-difference and class-exploitation, social movement, discontent, revolt and revolution are inevitable. The world had experienced them in the last century, as it is experiencing the same in this century too.
At the same time, capitalism due to its inherent anarchic characteristic is compelled to develop a contention beyond resolution. The dispute between Awami League and B.N.P. in Bangladeshi style is an expression of this type of contention only in a vulgar form. In fact, it is the main reason for the disturbances all over the world. In the last century, apart from killing of 10 crores of people in two World Wars, through numerous regional wars and native conflicts crores of people got killed, tortured, became displaced persons, faced famines, starvation – all this is done by these world-capitalists and imperialists. In our country too, there is no exception of these. That is happening in Iraq today, it may happen in any third world country. Particularly the massive poverty of the third world countries and worldwide state of disturbances cannot be remedied by Yunusian sorcery. Applying this, one can only cover up the wound to an extent.
Therefore, everyday people are ripping out and they will continue to do that. The thing what is required is to bring before them the fundamental characteristics of the existing system, which is established on the basis of intense class-difference and the most acute class-exploitation and this system is compelled to keep the broad-masses into poverty. Before the people, there is a need to fend for the programme and path to root out this system for the liberation from it.
The object of the bourgeois propaganda is to create a situation of make-believe among the poor masses that Yunus-brand different models of sorcery can liberate them from the poverty. The educated middle class used to be very readily and easily confused with such things. Now the rulers are greasing their confusion with narrow-nationalist high-pitched sentiment by projecting the incident of winning of Nobel Prize by Dr. Yunus and Grameen Bank. Thus, they want to pump the venom of bourgeois nationalism into the arteries of people, pretermitting the actual reasons of poverty and disturbances.
To us, Yunus is not at all a hero. He is not at all a representative of the people. He is only a capable son of capitalism – without destroying this system, there is no other alternative to eradicate the poverty and to establish peace in our country as well as in the whole world. Only through the struggle for Socialism and Communism can we advance towards that direction. Our real glory is lying with the heroic people of Kansat-Phoolbari, the great martyrs of people’s struggles and revolution. By tearing off the dragnet of deceptions of the so-called patrician representatives of the imperialism and the defenders of the interests of ruling class along with these international accreditations and their prizes, can we be able to acquire and win the real braveness, greatness, wisdom, knowledge and glory.
